And here they are, the pictures from Mother Mother's show last night. But first, I'd like to say a few words. If you don't know of them, you should do something about that. They are fellow island goers coming from Quadra Island. I have been to two of their shows, both in Victoria in the Alix Goolden Hall, and both times the Victoria crowd went absolutely, indisputably, savagely wild.
Until I see them on the mainland, or anywhere else where they may travel in the future - and they will - I can't say that the Vic crowd are the greatest, but I certainly wouldn't put it past us. Maybe it's an island thing. Perhaps it's the manner in which Mother Mother approaches their audience. Ryan Guldemond expressed his gratitude for Mother Mother's fans through saying that the band's dream to live as artists is possible only because of the fans out there supporting them. So true.
If you've been to a lot of concerts at the Alix Goolden hall, you'll know how rare it is that people are allowed to stand right at the apron of the stage. With Mother Mother, it's a well known fact that the band is going to get rushed in the first 3 seconds of their set. In fact, new this year was the way they finished off. Ryan pulled a fan onto the stage with him and proceeded to invite the entire hall to rock out with the band. Of course I got on. Of course I rocked out. Enough said.
